Bata Factory Design Brief Public Consultation

Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation is producing a Design Brief for the Bata Factory site to guide the future redevelopment of this important site. The former Bata Factory (also known as the Thames Industrial Park) is an important heritage asset but is underused and many of the existing buildings are in need of maintenance and restoration. The Design Brief will show the potential of the site and its buildings and illustrate how the reuse of buildings, with complementary new development, could enhance the site, contribute to the regeneration of the wider area and deliver essential infrastructure.

The Design Brief is not a set of definite proposals but will establish guidelines to assist the current owners or private developers to produce development proposals in accordance with community aspirations.

The Corporation undertook a Public Consultation Exercise on the document between 23 May and 20 June 2011 and is currently reviewing the responses.

The final version of the document will be published in late Autumn 2011

Although the consultation period is now closed, an electronic copy of the Draft Design Brief can still be viewed and downloaded below:

Should you have any questions or wish to discuss the content of the document then please telephone Mr Dean Harris at the Development Corporation on 01375 362012.
