Planning

On the 12 October 2005 the Secretary of State approved The Thurrock Development Corporation (Planning Functions) Order 2005. This had the effect of transferring the responsibility for deciding certain planning applications in Thurrock to the Development Corporation.

Generally, the Development Corporation is responsible for determining larger strategic applications and all those related to listed buildings. Minor proposals, including all householder development are determined by Thurrock Council.
