Our business

The Corporation was established by Parliament to drive the regeneration of Thurrock. We want to ensure that the growth of the Borough is carefully planned and managed. Regeneration brings an opportunity to encourage new businesses and jobs, develop new homes, schools and leisure activities to support a prosperous community with good quality accessible services and a robust social infrastructure.

Nine strategic goals have been set, which are:

• Accommodating growth using suitable locations
• Improving education
• New jobs
• Better housing quality and choice
• Improving community services and infrastructure
• Enhancing green space
• Improving entertainment, leisure and culture
• Better transport and accessibility
• Protecting the environment

The Corporation is committed to working with Thurrock's residential and business communities to ensure local people have their say in the regeneration of the area.
