Transition Arrangements for the Development Corporation's Planning Department

Since late 2005 the Development Corporation has been responsible for deciding certain types of planning applications (usually larger, strategic applications and all those related to listed buildings) within the Borough of Thurrock. In 2010, the Secretary of State announced that the Development Corporation would close on 31 March 2012 and that its planning powers would revert to Thurrock Council.

The Development Corporation will continue to receive and decide those applications that are its responsibility until the end of March 2012.

For further information on transition arrangements and what will happen to planning applications during and following the closure of the Corporation, please view the Planning Home Page.
