An application under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989, has
recently been submitted to The Secretary of State for the
Department of Energy and Climate Change to construct and operate a
900 Megawatt combined cycle gas turbine electricity generating
station on land at The Manorway, Stanford-Le-Hope, Essex, SS17
9PD.
The applicant, Gateway Energy Centre Limited has also
applied to the Secretary of State for a direction, under section
90(2) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, that planning
permission for the development be deemed to be granted.
