Home > Delivery > What we do in delivery > What we do in delivery The Delivery Team comprises the Director, Assistant Director of Delivery and four Delivery Managers. Its role is to ensure that the population growth arising from new housing and jobs is properly provided for in terms of community facilities, transportation arrangements and recreation facilities including green open space. Projects are designed to enhance existing facilities or to create new ones, depending on where they are and the kind of existing provision. The Development Corporation can help to bring forward additional capital funding to help build new infrastructure and facilities and prefers to work in partnership with other agencies such as the police or health service. Once the facility is built, we cannot provide support for running it, the maintenance costs or for delivering the service - this is the role for our partner agencies. The Delivery Team is also concerned with ensuring that sites are made more easily available for new development. This includes ensuring that roads or utilities are in place to open up a site for new development. It may sometimes involve the Development Corporation purchasing a site so that new forms of development can be undertaken. The Development Corporation also works in partnership with the landowner or developer to ensure that the new development is of a high quality and provides the community facilities too. |
