Transport
Thurrock is only about half an hour’s train journey to the City
of London or to City airport and offers a great combination of easy
access to the capital, and the space businesses need to grow.
With the Channel Tunnel Rail Links terminal nearby at Ebbsfleet,
Thurrock has fast access to Europe and the wider world.
Thames Gateway South Essex, with neighbouring authorities
Thurrock, Southend-on-Sea and Essex County Council is
developing The South East Essex Rapid Transit (SERT) a new rapid
public transport system to ease congestion and pollution. This
could be in operation by 2012 across South Essex.
Thurrock is home to the major port of Tilbury. The Dartford
river crossing (the QEII Millennium Bridge running south and the
Dartford tunnel running north) links the borough to the M25 and
South East, including Gatwick, Stansted and Heathrow airports.
