Closure of Development Corporation and Transfer of Responsibilities to Thurrock Council |
||
|
Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation was established in 2005 to drive
economic growth in Thurrock, create homes, jobs and opportunities and make Thurrock
a place where people want to live and work. The Development Corporation (DC) was
given the power to determine major planning applications to help achieve this. The DC closed on 31 March 2012 and its planning powers and regeneration functions have reverted to Thurrock Council. On 1 April 2012 most of the DC’s Planning Team transferred to Thurrock Council to form a new Major Projects Team responsible for dealing with any remaining applications that were not determined by the DC by the 31 March and new applications received by Thurrock Council after that date, which are of a nature that would previously have been dealt with by the DC team. Applicants, agents, consultees and third parties who have an interest in such applications that were not determined before the closure of the DC do not need to take any action. All information and representations received by the DC have been transferred to Thurrock Council. Should you have any Planning questions please contact the Major Cases Team at Thurrock Council: General Contact Number: 01375 652652 Website: http://www.thurrock.gov.uk/planning/ |
